Position Overview:

The Home Equity Underwriter is responsible for assisting Members & LMCU Employees with the processing of Home Equity Lines of Credit, Smart Move Mortgages & Second Fixed Mortgages.




  • Assists members and employees with the processing of Home Equities Lines of Credit, Smart Move Mortgages and Second Fixed Mortgages; then to make approval determination. 
  • Reviews residential and investment loan applications for completeness.
  • Reviews assets, liabilities, employment history, credit history, debt-to-income ratios and collateral values in order to make decision of approve or deny. 
  • Assists with the closing process by updating Symitar, print documents, provide instruction as needed, and submit disbursed loans to post closing for review.  


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A high school degree or equivalent
