    Overview:

     

    The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing content and coordinating LMCU’s social media platforms to help us tell our brand story. This role will support all LMCU business units to generate social media that is on brand and meets objectives while resonating with appropriate audiences. This Social Media Specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders in ensuring LMCU’s social media channels provide engaging content, responsiveness, and drive awareness. Working to align social media channels with the organizational marketing and community relations initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Implementing LMCU’s social media strategy and managing social media communications on a daily basis. Coordinating and overseeing social media calendars and content management software programs. Upholding LMCU’s brand image and reputation through the management of all social channels.
    • Monitoring effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, analyzing and reporting on LMCU’s social media analytics and campaign results. Regularly monitoring trends in social media tools and applications and providing feedback and insights gained from social media monitoring to the marketing team to help evolve LMCU’s strategies in a timely fashion.
    • Generating social media content for all LMCU business units that meets objectives of each project, resonates with appropriate audiences and that aligns with LMCU brand standards. Serving as a first point-of-contact with each business unit and departments who need assistance with creating and maintaining a social media presence and encouraging its adoption of relevant social media techniques. Monitoring social media channels and serving as a liaison with departments to provide appropriate member service in a timely manner.
    • Assisting with photography, video (including self-captured video plus partnering with LMCU’s marketing video team), and graphic design that can be utilized on LMCU’s social media channels.
    • Assisting in crisis communications as needed via LMCU’s social media platforms.
    • Occasionally assisting with corporate communications needs including press releases.
    • Working with LMCU’s media buyer to implement social media advertising campaigns.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 1-3 years of similar or related experience is required with 3-5 years of experience being preferred. 
    • College degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations or a related field.
    • Working knowledge with using Adobe Creative Suite, Hubspot, Hootsuite (or other social content management software), and Microsoft Office programs.
