    Responsibilities

    The successful individual in this role will be a network engineer with a strong background in Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies. The ideal candidate can work well and communicate effectively with others, is self-starting, creative, and able to think through a project from start to finish. The network engineer is expected to take total ownership of our customers' networks; from architecture, design, and documentation through deployment and maintenance.

    The ideal engineer has a great deal of autonomy, and is expected to be able to manage their time effectively. This position requires an individual who is able to work successfully in a virtual environment, and who does not require direct supervision.

     Vendor Experience:

    • Cisco – 4300, 3900, 2900, ASR and ISR routers. Nexus 9k/7k/5k
    • Cisco UCS
    • Cisco Firewalls
    • Load Balancers - Citrix / NetScaler,  Cisco ACE, F5 LTM

     

    Layer 2 Experience:

    • Spanning-Tree, including 802.1d and 802.1w
    • Wireless 
    • Trunking (Ether-channel)
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and effective troubleshooting methods

    Layer 3 Experience:

     

    • EIGRP Routing including route redistribution
    • Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points
    • Cisco ISE
    • BGP: load balancing traffic and engineering for automatic failover; multiple methods for equal-cost load balancing; routing policy to manipulate BGP atributes; flow analysis.

    Architecture & Design:

    • Provide planning, design, implementation, and support of LANs and WANs
    • Conduct throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning
    • Understand the current state of Internet's major network players and quality between vendors
    • Visio design/diagramming skills

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years hands on experience with installing and troubleshooting Cisco Network Infrastructure, wireless and security technologies
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience
    • CCNA or CCNP certification preferred
    • Ability to manage and coordinate projects
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to travel as needed
